Sneaky Spinach

Hey, Friends! Today I am here to tell you about a cute new book I discovered this week!

As a mom and teacher. we always want out kids eating healthy. Though, kids tend to make different choices! This cute book shows how kids CAN get vegetables in their food without them even knowing about it!

In this story Nick wants nothing to do with vegetables BUT, loves to have a smoothie each morning. Little does he know but those sneaky spinach leaves keep jumping into his smoothie mix!

This book is a great way start to showing kids that eating healthy is easier than they think!

You can find this book on Amazon and the Nekter Juice Bar page. Check it out!

Thanks for stopping by!

Attendance Incentives

Recently at our school, we have started to have a problem with kids coming to school! So each grade level team was to collaborate and think about different ways we could encourage students to come to school and boost our attendance numbers.

Our team decided to go with a popcorn party. Simple and easy enough for sure. So I made this display that we hung up in our first-grade hallway

So each day a class had all their students present at attendance time got to add a popcorn sticker to their class ten frame. It was so fun to see how each class was progressing. I also began to notice how my students would really cheer for students when they showed up each day.  We have been doing this contest for a few weeks and last week WE filled up our class ten frame!!

Our class was so excited and the other first grade classes were really jealous! All the teachers kept saying that it is so important to be at school each and every day ( unless your sick).

My class enjoyed some popcorn and a movie last Friday and also got some tags and certificates

Now that we reached our 10-day goal, we are trying for 20 days! I will be adding another ten frame to the board in hopes we can fill it fast!

I have had other people comment on how well this would work in just their classroom or even as a behavior chart. All great ideas to promote student success.

You can click this link here or the cover below to see it in my TPT shop.

What do you do to promote attendance in your school?

How to Store those Mini Erasers

Hey there! If you follow me over on Instagram you KNOW how much I love those target mini erasers! They are used for everything in my classroom. So you probably have them too but, HOW the heck do you keep them all organized???? Don't you worry friends I have a really CHEAP easy fix for you!

These ziplock extra small square containers are PERFECT!!!

Each square holds one bag of erasers.

The best thing about them is they are clear so you can easily see which one you want to use!

Now I took my storage a step further. Once I put them into the square containers I then organized them by season with these craft storage boxes I had from Michael's

I could fit 16 sets into one box. Then until I got some more I had to stack some on top.

Having them stored this way makes is really easy for my kids to use during our activity time. They can just grab a container and go.

Here are some of the ways we use them in my classroom

Make sure to check out my eraser activity pack for TONS of hands-on engaging activities!
