What I am Teaching Week of March 1st

Wait..did I just type March?? Does it seem like this year if flying by for you too?
This month is going to be such an emotional crazy one for me! My youngest son will be having his Bar Mitzvah in 20 days!!! YIKES. I have just a mile long list to get done in the next few weeks. Thank goodness this is our last week before Spring Break! We had a photo shoot last week and here is a shot I took with my phone

I may be biased but, I think he is so cute. I can't believe in 20 days I will have 2 teenagers!! Waaaaaaahhaaaaa

OK, now onto my plans for this week. Well, here in Dallas we had 2 days of school this week! It was CrAzY!!! 2 days for ice and we got out early on Friday due to SNOW! SO needless to stay my lesson plans last week were a mess. I did manage to get some of my President's Day activities in but not to the extent I would have liked.

So on to March we go. This week promises to be just as crazy and FUN!
I am excited about all the fun I have planned this week for a certain author that loves to rhyme! That is right it's Dr. Seuss Week!!

I love to pick out a book a day to read with my class and then incorporate some
reading skill to go along with it. I created these response sheets that my students will be using

I made them general and differentiated for my students. If you would like to get them they are a FREEBIE in my store. Just click on the cover:

I also love some interactive centers but, did not want to introduce any new topics this week since we are catching up/ getting ready for break. We will be using these literacy centers this week

Here is a peak at what the centers look like
Write The Room

I am also taking this week to begin our first author study! We will be using these cards to gather information about Theodor Geisel

Then my students will be using organizers to gather information and create some sentences about him. I hope to get some pics during the week and show you how they turn out.

Have a great week everyone!! Happy March :)
