What I am Teaching This Week...Pumpkins, Pumpkins, Pumpkins!

Hi friends! This is such a fun time of the year. SO many fall ideas and never enough time to get it all done!
This week for reading we are discovering Pumpkins!! Here is just a few of our books

We are starting the week off with Pumpkin Jack

This is a great story about what happens when a pumpkin is left outside. I also use it to teach the life cycle of a pumpkin. We are going to use these pictures to sequence how a pumpkin grows
I also love to use the book

My students are going to create a flip books that shows the different stages and what occurs during that time

Another great book to use this week is Pumpkin Town
It is a great story and the kids just LOVE it when the pumpkin chaos hits the town! The end of this story is perfect for students to write about what could happen next so, I made this for my students
Have you read The Runaway Pumpkin?

This story is about some boys who find an enormous pumpkin and cut off the vine. Without thinking about how they are going to get it home. Students love this rhyming crazy adventure!

I like to use the books to help develop the skill of cause and effect as well as sequencing the events of the story. I found this great freebie on TPT
click the cover to grab it

You can grab the pumpkin sheet if you would like them by just clicking

I would love to hear what you all do in your classroom with pumpkins!
