Since this was all new to me of course, I had to search TPT to see what amazing resources are out there. I came across this pack from Miss Decarbo and thought it was perfect for my class.
This set has poems, planning pages and final copies.
So to start off
I made this anchor chart that tells a little bit about poetry.
I also brought out some of my favorite books of poems to share with my class!
This one makes me think of my childhood....LOVE it.
My mom bought these books for me when I got my first teaching job....22 years ago!
Our centers this week will be drafting and writing poems. I am excited to see what my little authors will be coming up with. I will be posting pictures on Instagram during the week so make sure you are following me. If you are not well then what are you waiting for! Just click HERE!
We are also starting our Landform unit this week. Here is another anchor chart that we will have up during the next few weeks.
I found these books over the years and will share them with my class.
Some of my students are going to be creating a landform dictionary. I have the different names printed off for them and they will use these mini-charts to gather information:
click the pictures to see the whole set.
Other students will be making these flip books. I separated land and water landforms into 2 different books.
Here is an up close look at the activities and pages.
Next week is all about Earth Day. Make sure to come back and read about all I have planned. Have a
great week!
